Policies & Commitment
Tuition & Payment
Participants have the option to complete the Women's Leadership Program (WLP) either in person or virtually. In person tution costs are: $6,000 (members) or $8,000 (non-members). Virtual tuition costs are: $5,000 (members) or $6,000 (non-members). Payment in full to the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce (GBCC) is due upon acceptance into the program either by the participant or the participant’s company. If the participant’s company is paying for tuition, the participant is responsible for submitting the invoice to the appropriate person within their company.
Attendance
Participants are expected to attend all sessions of the Women's Leadership Program.
The Chamber recognizes that occasionally work and personal conflicts may prevent attendance, and for this reason, the schedule and session dates are included on the application website for maximum preparation and planning.
The Chamber requires 75% overall attendance to earn your certificate. Simmons requires 100% attendance at their sessions.
Drop Deadline/Cancellation
The Chamber understands that occasionally circumstances require that participants drop the program or cancel their participation. If a participant needs to drop the program, requests must be made in writing to the Director of Learning & Development by October 4, 2024. All requests received by October 4 will be refunded 100%. Any requests received after October 4 will NOT be refunded as the Chamber pays its delivery partners up front and incurs costs for the entirety of the program upon its start.
If tuition payment is not received by the Chamber for a participant within 30 days of invoice receipt, they will be dropped from the program.
Company Change or Employee Transition
The Chamber recognizes that emerging leaders make changes in their careers and may transition from one company to another during the Women's Leadership Program. The participant remains responsible for ensuring tuition payment either by self or initial employer, and the Chamber is not responsible for reimbursing the initial employer if the participant leaves employment during the program. The participant is required to update the Chamber staff as soon as a company change is made.
If a company has not paid for a prior participant’s tuition, the company is not eligible to send any participants to future programs until the balance is paid in full, regardless of whether the past participant is still employed at the company.
Program Wait List
The popularity of the Women's Leadership Program often results in a wait list. Those on the wait list may be notified up to one month into the program if their acceptance can be accommodated. The Chamber recognizes that missing any sessions may not be desirable for all participants but will offer program seats if any become available.
